Autumn Dawn Leader/Be-Cky/Pete Kenny

AUTUMN DAWN LEADER/BE-CKY/PETER KENNY
Musician Pub 8th September 2024

Back at the The Musician Pub for Five Decades of Madness & Magic celebrating the unique maverick Autumn Dawn Leader: Songmistress... and what a wonderful evening it was!

The show opened with a lovely set by PETE KENNY. I hadn't seen Pete before, but hope to catch him again... he has a fine voice and and sings well, with very relaxed and warm delivery. The set included a cover of one of Autumn's songs (with her permission!) and his own songs, all of which are excellent... very warm and enjoyable set... excellent

Secondly we had BE-CKY, and she was a real joy. Full of personality and fun, with a great voice and bundle of top class songs. She sings and plays with a smile and engages easily with the audience... another top class set.

After a short break it was time for Autumn Dawn Leader: Songmistress to take the stage... and she was outstanding.
She kicked off with a song reflecting the 50 years and continued with a mix of familiar and less familiar material, including the first serious song she ever wrote... every single one was high class. Autumn was in great voice throughout, her singing absolutely exceptional... she has a wonderful voice and sings with power, emotion also sensitivity bringing the most out her her fabulous songs.
The middle section of the set featured guests accompanying her... firstly MELANIE PEGGE who played melodica then guitar as well as adding some sublime harmonies. Then Paddy McCullough stepped up (Grinning Scarecrows) to accompany Autumn on a superb performance of "Devour". Last but by no means least of the guests was CHRIS CHAMBERS (Secret Magpies) who accompanied Autumn on one song then played one of his own accompanied by her harmonies.
After the guests, back to the keyboard to end the show as it started, playing the final songs solo
A wonderful evening in the company of outstanding musicians, and a real triumph for Autumn, she was simply magnificent
