Alia Tempora/Roz Bruce Infusion

ALIA TEMPORA/ROZ BRUCE INFUSION
Musician Pub: 8th May 2024

At the The Musician Pub last night for an amazing gig.
First up was the The Roz Bruce Infusion. I'd seen the band a few weeks ago at what was a first gig in i think 6 years and they were great then... a few more gigs down the road and last night they were absolutely superb.
The band features a thunderous bass and powerful drummer providing a dense and powerful dark sound around Roz's exceptional guitar playing and vocals.
The first half of the set concentrated on material from a forthcoming album which is built around themes of Domination and S&M... dark themes and the music suitably dark and powerful. The rest of the set was older material including a literary piece around the novel Catch 22.
Roz's guitar playing is fluent and powerful while her voice can be soft and light or dark and sinister as required... a perfect match for the material. She has an engaging stage presence, including thrashing the cymbals with a whip at one point... and engaging with the audience from the off.
A powerful and magnificent set... absolutely loved it.

Headlining was Alia Tempora from Czechia and Mexico... and it was a huge contrast in styles! This band are high energy, powerful light and breezy, very much a "fun" band out to give a great show.
On the negative side, they use assorted props and devices , such as tables for the players to jump on and off, smoke jets and an illuminated mic stand which i don’t normally care for.. .but with this band they fitted in perfectly with the overall vibe.
They started with the bassist and guitarist bouncing on the tables and setting the scene, with the drummer, by playing some fast powerful rock'n'roll before the Unicorn Princess Markie Moravkova made her appearance to add the vocals.
The who whole sound was powerful and rocking like fury while maintaining a light fun element. The visual impact of the band was outstanding... the stage outfits, continual movement and great energy were absorbing while the musicianship and playing were superb.
A non-stop performance, maintaining the power and exuberance of the start for the whole set without let up. Hugely entertaining and riveting performance which left me smiling.
A terrific gig of contrasts... the dark and satanic power and brilliance of the Roz Bruce Infusion followed by the poppy rock'n'roll of the hugely entertaining and vibrant Alia Tempora
A great night from start to finish
Keep music live... keep music real... support your local venue
