Replica/The Fazed/Amy Dx

REPLICA/THE FAZED/AMY DX
Donkey 6th April 2024

Back to the The Donkey Venue for Saturday night music...
First up was Amy Dx, playing solo these days, with just her keyboard and voice. Amy kicked off with the more familiar material from her album ("We're Only Human" and "Broken") as well as the single, "Parasite" before moving on to newer songs.
Amy has a terrific voice and sings and plays beautifully... she also writes some pretty fine songs.
Unfortunately the huge majority of the audience were there purely for the rock'n'roll/punk bands headlining and all but drowned out Amy's performance with their noise... a pity, they missed a good set

Next up was a fine band, The Fazed. I'm not sure of genres here but the band play a full tilt rock'n'roll verging on punk... and do it incredibly well.
No self indulgent soloing, just 4 musicians working as a team to deliver a high energy no-frills set. Bass and Drums were creative and powerful throughout and the two guitars meshed beautifully up front. The singer has a strong clear voice and handles the material with conviction and energy
I really enjoyed seeing this band again... great set!

Finally, REPLICA... a covers band, celebrating the music of the '90's and 00's. Not an era I know too well but did at least know some of the songs, such as "Common People", "Champagne Supernova" & "Hush".
However the band proved to be high energy and rocking getting the audience moving... and maintained a terrific pace through out the set. The band rocked hard and played with passion and energy and proved to be quality musicians.
Special mention for the new vocalist, i believe Replica had been away from the stage for a few years until this gig and it was the debut for the new frontman... and he was great... sang really well, had great rapport and great energy.
A great set that had the audience moving throughout...
Keep music live... keep music real... support your local venue
