Starting with a really great set from the Micky Kemp Band... rock'n'roll all the way from Farnham... based on Micky's acoustic guitar playing and voice, delivering superb original songs and filled out by excellent bass and drums and some beautiful restrained lead electric guitar... the lead guitar very much part of the band and delivering some beautiful solos
Then on to the much anticipated main event... the Willie Nile Band all the way from New York. Willie and the band roared into a giant slab of high octane Greenwich Village rock'n'roll with a social conscience... energy couldn't be higher with a band clearly loving what they are doing... For a reference point look to the likes of Lou Reed, Springsteen, Patti Smith, the Clash and Ramones...
Willie has a great rock'n'roll voice and his songs and tales are absolutely wonderful... born out of life and experience... and showing great compassion... The band were tight and rocked like crazy... brilliant bass and druim solos and superb guitar playing throughout.
A brilliant and memorable performance by a band who really know their business and deliver wonderful music and songs
