A disappointingly small audience tonight enjoyed a great performance by Marty and Olivia Willson-Piper, paying their first visit to Leicester.

Marty has an enviable pedigree playing with All About Eve, The Church & the Saints and the gig was a retrospective covering his career to date

Lamentably I don't know the work of any of these bands so all of the songs were new and fresh to me and very strong and lyrically great.

i really liked Marty's style and presentation, his voice matching perfectly the songs, and his acoustic 12 string while Olivia added some beautiful violin and harmony vocals.. the whole meshed beautifully and gave us a hugely enjoyable gig.

We also had a great deal of intriguingly random banter and a great deal of information about the songs and bands involved... i must admit that a fair number of the comments went over my head as I don't know the back catalogue or bands... nonetheless... another great gig
