Della GrantS/Ro Jordan

DELLA GRANTS/RO JORDAN
IMV 1st November 2025

Back to the The International Music Venue ON Saturday for the The Della Grants homecoming gig...
First up was a new name to me, Ro Jordan... i would love to do a proper review but unfortunately the rabble in the room preferred to display their ignorance by bellowing all the way through her set... i did hear enough to know i would like to hear her again with a more respectful audience though, i thought she was good!!... such a shame, she deserved so much better

On to the main attraction, the The Della Grants were back in great form rocking their way through a great set of mainly original material, but including a couple of covers from the Marshall Tucker Band and the Rolling Stones (just a personal point... i disagree with Max about the Stones being the greatest rock'n'roll band ever!!)
The Della Grants give full value, kicking off at full tilt and maintaining the momentum without difficulty throughout. The band play with terrific momentum and conviction and clearly love playing, the friendship among the band is clear to see and in Max they have a frontman of real authority and quality, singing and playing with passion and assurance throughout... but the band isn't just about Max... the rest of the band contribute equally to the whole mix.. with some superb guitar and harp from Tom, who also sang lead on the old rabble rouser "Midnight Special" while Andy provided solid high class pounding bass throughout... I sadly dont recall the name of the stand-in drummer.. but he did a mighty great job driving the band from behind.
i hugely enjoyed an excellent set by the Della Grants... great stuff
Sad that the ignorance displayed to Ro in her set left a bad taste...
