AUTUMN DAWN LEADER/STEVIE JONES & DEan SHELDRICK/KEVIN HEWICK
Duffys 9th April 2026
Another great Thursday night in Duffy's Bar brought together by Kevin Hewick in the form of the latest "Botheration" session
As always Kevin kicked things off with a fine set... as he suggested, unprepared and seeming somewhat shambolic but as soon as he starts to play and sing the shambles is gone and he delivers his always great songs with power and conviction... while playing equally strong guitar...
The man is a legend and one of the major figures on the local scene... and as always his set was a cracker.
Sadly at the end of his set I had to nip out to deal with something, and consequently missed the following set, "Clouds" but heard some very positive comments about it once back...
So next up was the excellent Stevie Jones, ably assisted by Dean Sheldrick. Stevie is beyond doubt one of the best singer songwriters around writing fine songs and singing in a warm relaxed style, tonight featuring a few songs from the excellent "Getting There" album as well as some older pieces and one cover (not a song i knew). As well as Stevie, Dean plays electric guitar and adds some beautiful lines to Stevie's songs, The duo clearly have a rapport and work perfectly together... a beautifully warm beautifully delivered set as always
Finally the unique and wonderful Autumn Dawn Leader, assisted by Tom on backing vocals. Autumn is a unique artist, writing superb, dark, angst ridden powerful songs which she brings to life with her superb voice and powerful performance, accompanying herself on keyboard or lyre with Tom adding some great vocals throughout the set.
Many of the songs were taken from the superb "Naked Truth" album, as well as (i think) a newer song about the historical figure Sir Thomas Montecute.
An ADL gig is something more than a gig... powerful prog goth delivered with a voice full of power and emotion which is totally compelling...
Another superb performance
