Remi Harris/Man of the World, Luis Morrison

REMI HARRIS/MAN OF THE WOPRLD - LUIS MORRISON
Musician Pub Feb 26th 2023

Sunday afternoon at the Musician delivered a truly magnificent performance to a sold out audience. Man Of The World - The Music Of Peter Green featuring Remi Harris (guitar), Dave Small (vocals /percusiion) Tom Moore (Bass) & Shane Dixon (drums) delivered a simply stunning set which left me speechless by the end... Remi is beyond doubt one of the great guitar players, and the tone and feel within his playing was beautiful throughout... vocalist Dave has energy and charisma to spare, and proved a wonderful frontman for the band and Shane and Tom weighed in with some superb playing and soloing... the whole show was outstanding... whether the beautiful and to me emotional delivery of "Albatross" to the classic blues and rock of "Need your love so bad" and "Rattlesnake Shake" through the whole raft of Peter Green classic material this was a truly magnificent show... simply brilliant

The afternoon was kicked off by a support set by Luis Morrison, ably assisted for part of his set by two members of his regular band

Spriggan Mist - The Tirith

SPRIGGAN MIST - THE TIRITH
Musician Pun February 25th 2023

This was a gig i had been really looking forward to...

The opening act was a prog rock band, THE TIRITH... i have to say this isn't my kind of thing at all, and i found them horribly monotonous... however, as I said, prog is not a genre i much like, and the audience around, and those i spoke to, enjoyed them... so i guess they are pretty good at what they do

On to the positives... headliners, the brilliant Spriggan Mist came on and were superb... high energy, powerful, musically and vocally brilliant... haven't a clue how to sum them up... file under "Wonderful... not to be missed"

The energy levels and connection amongst the band members were awesome, added to the terrific music made this another really great Musician performance... absolutely loved them.

The standard of the bands and artists we see at the Musician Pub remains so incredibly high... tonight we saw Jenny Colquitt (Full band show). A new name to me but what a voice!!... great voice, great songs and great musicianship from Jenny and the band... Jenny excelled both solo and with the band on vocals, guitar and keyboard over a hugely enjoyable 2 hour show...
A really terrific nights entertainment...

Beggs Sisters

BEGGS SISTERS
Musician Pub February 19th 2023

4th and final gig of the weekend... this time to the Musician Pub to see an extraordinarily beautiful band, The Beggs Sisters.
I've said it before i suspect, but this was a revelation... beautiful voices, great songs, fine musicianship and the connection, love and rapport between the band members clear to see. The band is the sister Willow Beggs and Lula Beggs along with their father, Nick Beggs...and his look of pride (fully justified!!) in his family was wonderful to see... and the final revelation was that this was only their 2nd gig ever...
Truly wonderful performance by a really superb band... loved every moment
